Meet Seabrook's Experienced Sales Team Members

Seabrook's sales team have helped thousands of retirees learn more about the vibrant, worry-free lifestyle and move to the community.

When prospective residents first visit Seabrook, an Erickson Senior Living community in Tinton Falls, N.J., they can expect a warm welcome from sales team members, many of whom boast years of experience in senior living.

In fact, Dennise Baldwin and Lauren Schieda, the community's sales counselors, and Planning and Moving Consultant Macie Fisher have been working at Seabrook for more than a decade.

Together, they have helped thousands of retirees learn more about Seabrook's vibrant, worry-free lifestyle and make a seamless move to the community.

Background in sales

Baldwin, who previously worked in sales for a large trucking company and a nursing home, was well-positioned for a sales role at Seabrook.

Since joining the community 19 years ago, she alone has helped an estimated 1,000 retirees find the perfect homes for their retirement lifestyle at Seabrook.

"It's a joy to get to know incoming residents and their families," she says.

As a sales counselor, Baldwin meets with first-time visitors, schedules appointments, and leads tours throughout the community. But the most fulfilling part of her job is seeing these incoming residents thrive once they're settled in.

"Seeing them have such a great experience in the community is the best part," she says. "I get goosebumps when I see someone flourishing who may have been a little bit nervous about moving and making new friends. It's so rewarding."

Sharing the lifestyle

Prior to joining the sales team in 2019, Schieda served as Seabrook's fitness manger.

"I worked closely with residents on a day-to-day basis," says Schieda, noting that many residents improved their overall well-being thanks to the community's fitness offerings and other social activities.

She continues, "I loved working here, and I loved the people, so I wanted to continue my career at Seabrook--just in a different capacity. I wanted to show people how wonderful life is once they become part of the community."

Like Baldwin, Schieda meets with first-time visitors, schedules appointments, and leads tours throughout the community.

"I spend a lot of time with prospective residents, getting to know them on a personal level and helping them determine if this is where they can see themselves in the future," she explains.

"It's exciting when the people I've met with become Priority List members and reserve a home."

But Schieda's favorite part of her role is seeing people participate in activities and make new connections with neighbors after moving in. "Now, they're living their best lives!" she says.

Building relationships

For Fisher, a family tie helped kickstart her career at Seabrook. Her grandfather knew a former volunteer coordinator at Seabrook, so he suggested she volunteer there during college. After meeting with the volunteer coordinator, she started volunteering for a few hours each week.

"I loved spending time at Seabrook," she recalls. "As a result, he encouraged me to consider a career here."

So, she started part-time and, after graduation, became the volunteer coordinator when her mentor retired.

She was excited to transition to the sales team four years ago, as it gave her the chance to share her knowledge about community life with prospective residents.

Given her stellar relationship-building skills, Fisher was promoted to planning and moving consultant last year.

"I love getting to know prospective residents on a personal level," says Fisher.

In this role, she helps Priority List members plan ahead, often suggesting furniture layouts for their chosen floor plans and coordinating the logistics of their move.

"Once they have reserved their new home, I help them prepare for the next step and make sure the move is easy for them," she explains. "Our preferred real estate agents and moving companies are also a huge help."

Stop by!

"Our tenure is a testament to the culture here at Seabrook. Everyone, residents and staff included, is so friendly," explains Baldwin.

"We enjoy building relationships with incoming residents and watching them become a part of the community we know and love," she says.
