Monmouth Family Health Center Receives Grant For Expansion
$3.4 million grant will be used to expand Long Branch facility

Monmouth Family Center received some good news this week when Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced that the Long Branch hospital will be receving a $3.4 million grant to expand its facilities and serve more patients.
A release from Pallone states that the grant was made possible by the Affordable Care Act, also known as the health care reform law.

Monmouth Family Center is located at 270 Broadway and on site at Monmouth Medical Center.
"Monmouth Family Health Center is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center with a mission of providing economically disadvantaged individuals in Long Branch and surrounding communities with high quality, comprehensive, affordable, culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate primary and preventive health care," the center's web site states.

The center was one of several in New Jersey that received more than $18 million in grants through the Affordable Care Act to expand community health centers.
“I am proud that, thanks to the Affordable Care Act, more families in in Monmouth County will have improved access to critical health services," Pallone said in a release. “The grant will not only increase access to quality health care, but also enable the Monmouth Family Health Center to create good health care jobs in the community.”
The money will provide funds to expand health center facilities, improve existing services, serve more patients and address facility and equipment needs.
