Monmouth Mall Welcomes Boscov's Back to Town
The department store reopens at the Eatontown mall after a nearly four-year hiatus with sales, a parade and even Mrs. Partridge.
The official return of Boscov's department store to the Monmouth Mall fold this weekend is being heralded by a marching band, a parade with local officials and a performance by Academy Award winning actress Shirley Jones.
The store, which first opened in Eatontown in 2001, will celebrate its grand opening on Sunday with a parade out front at 9:30 a.m. led by the Monmouth Regional marching band and featuring Eatontown and Tinton Falls mayors and council members, police, fire and EMS workers and Jones.
The Partridge Family mom will perform at Boscov’s Community Auditorium at 2:30 p.m. Also appearing onstage is Gene London, an actor/designer who will be hosting The Glamour of Hollywood fashion show featuring costumes from his collection of vintage gowns worn by legendary actresses. London will appear at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Boscov’s will also keep the kiddies busy with magic, child identification, balloon artistry, Halloween crafts, costume characters and the Jazz Arts Academy Student Jazz Ensemble.
Boscov’s, which closed its doors in 2008, underwent a $6 million dollar interior renovation complete with new marble floors, updated décor and a more open floor plan.

The store held a charity day on Wednesday and has remained open as curious and sales-conscious shoppers filled the normally vacant parking lots surrounding the building.
Terri Forbes, who's the pubic relations manager for the Eatontown store, said of the last few days, "It's a little crazy."
"But everybody here is on the same page," she said of her fellow Boscov's employees. ""We're all working together to open the store."
