New Shore Regional Club Participates in SPCA Fundraiser

Students for Animal Welfare participate in Monmouth County SPCA Dog Walk

A new Shore Regional club is already making its mark in the community.

The club called Students for Animal Welfare (SAW) participated in the Monmouth County SPCA Dog Walk last week.

The club was created by Ilianna Anise, Justina Anise, and Harrison Baker as a vehicle to raise awareness for animal abuse.

According to Shore Regional's Joe DeLeonardo, the group has four main goals; educate people as to the injustices being perpetrated on animals, raise awareness and start conversations that can create change, start petitions to help stop some of these inhumane actions, and raise money for local animal charities.

SAW now has 54 members, and the club will be starting its first awareness campaign this month along with a second fundraiser.
