• Long Branch Day Is Coming! Vendors Wanted for Spooktacular Fall Celebration (tapinto.net) — Long Branch families can look forward to Long Branch Day on Saturday, Oct. 10, a free fall-and-Halloween-themed celebration at the Long Branch Free Public Library on Broadway. The library is actively seeking local vendors and small $20 gift card donations for costume contest prizes, promising bouncy houses, games, music, face painting, and more for an afternoon of community fun.
   

• Monmouth Co. Beach Closed Due To High Levels Of Human Fecal Bacteria (patch.com) — Elberon Beach Club in Long Branch has been temporarily closed after state testing found high levels of fecal bacteria in the ocean water, raising health concerns for swimmers. Officials also issued advisories for beaches in Fair Haven, Neptune Township, Point Pleasant, and Atlantic City, and residents can track closures and water quality on the state's njbeaches.org website.
   

• How We Helped Joyce on World Elephant Day 2026 (worldanimalprotection.us) — A World Elephant Day campaign has brought a large Joyce-themed sand sculpture to the beach by Pier Village in Long Branch, aiming to pressure nearby Six Flags to send its elephants to a sanctuary. Along with billboards on Route 9 and a university-backed seismic study, organizers are urging New Jersey residents to sign petitions and email Six Flags leadership to close the elephant exhibit.
