TFMS Leaps into Future with New Media Center [VIDEO]

The school community gathered on Thursday night for the launch of the updated library.

Three years ago, the library at the looked much the same as it had for a few generations of students, with old metal shelving, a few desktops and books that had been sitting on those shelves for an average of 27 years.

On Thursday, members of the school community cut the ribbon on an that can address the needs of what school principal Linda Balogh referred to as "21st Century learners."

Crediting the efforts of the district's board, superintendent, PTA and media specialist, Balogh reminded the audience at the opening of the program that working with technology is as essential to today's students as learning to tie their shoes.

Members of the Library Tech Squad showed off a number of features the media center now boasts, including a Smart Board, 24/7 online access to the collection and 25 iPads.
