Positive Coronavirus Cases: Long Branch At 43, Eatontown At 38

Monmouth County released a tally on positive cases by town for the first time in a week. Here are the numbers.

Update: Since this story was published, county officials posted updated numbers at about 2 p.m. Tuesday. Long Branch is up to 43 positive cases, while Eatontown increased to 38.

LONG BRANCH, NJ — Officials reported 39 total cases of the novel coronavirus in Long Branch as of Monday, along with 33 positive cases in Eatontown.

Monmouth County officials released a breakdown by municipality Monday for the first time since last Tuesday. One week ago, authorities had reported 13 and seven positive cases in Eatontown and Long Branch, respectively.

People with the coronavirus also might not show symptoms, according to the Center for Disease Control. With limited testing available nationwide, it is also difficult to gauge the true number of people with the virus.
