Prepare To Pay - Long Branch Parking Meters Activated On May 1

Handicapped spaces are free with placard or plates, police say.

Parking meters will go into effect on May 1 in a number of areas throughout the city, Long Branch police said.

Here is the pricing for the 2016 meters season.

  • - Pier Villiage- $2 an hour Monday through Thursday and $3 an hour on Friday through Sunday and holidays. Outside of Pier Village is $1 an hour Monday through Thursday and $2 and hour on Friday through Sunday and holidays.
  • - All time limits have been removed. You may now add money to the meter to stay longer.
    - Metered hours in Pier Village are 10 a.m. through midnight.
    - Metered Hours outside of Pier Village are 9 a.m. through 5 pm..
    - No parking in Pier Village between the hours of 3 a.m. and 5 a.m.

  • Handicapped Parking
    - All handicapped parking spaces (non-numbered) are free of charge with placard or plates.
    - If all handicapped spaces are taken, you may park in a numbered space. But state law requires that you pay the maximum time allotment on that meter one time. Once paid, you can park in that spot for up to 24 hours with a handicapped plate or placard.
