Runners Take Your Mark: Eatontown 5K Race Set for Labor Day

Those of us over the age of 25 know that if Memorial Day is this weekend, then Labor Day will be here faster than we can say "Fourth of July."

Eatontown's Recreation Advisory Committee will host the 17th annual 5K Labor Day Race on Monday, Sept. 15 and it's never too early to start training for the day of fun.

Sponsors are still being accepted for the race, which kicks off at the Sheraton Hotel on Route 35 and is broken into various events that include a one-mile run for adults and one just for kids. There is also a 5K Leisure Walk and a 5K Walk and race.

The race will kick off at 9 a.m. and there are plenty of opporunities to register before the day of the event. All pre-registered participants will receive a custom-designed race t-shirt and 5K glass. There will be plenty of water stations along the race route and pre- and post- race refreshments provided by the Sheraton Hotel.
