Seabrook's Top Chef Contest "Gets Heated"
Residents and chefs cook up delicious dishes during friendly competition on campus.
The competition got “heated” during Seabrook’s Top Chef competition on July 11. Teams consisting of one chef and one or two residents at the Erickson Living retirement community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, had 30 minutes to create the tastiest dish from a mystery basket of ingredients that included lobster, curry powder, rice, pasta, butter, garlic, and more.
After tasting the delectable dishes and a tough deliberation, the judges crowned resident Gerald Seybold and Chef Kaleal Jackson as the Top Chef winner for their delightful Lobster Risotto. In addition to receiving prizes, the team’s recipe will be prepared by Seabrook’s chefs and served at a campus restaurant this summer.
During the event, audience members cheered on their favorite team, competed in a Food Trivia contest for prizes, and enjoyed refreshments.
