Shore Graduate Presents Scholarships

Wayne Reisner hands out scholarships to four seniors

Shore Regional alumnus Wayne Reisner never forgets where he comes from and has been rewarding graduates of his alma mater for 11 years.

Last week, he was back in the area last week to present a check to the 2011 winners of the Wayne Reisner Scholarship, given to students who have made great academic and athletic achievements, performed community service. The students must also write an essay and do an interview.

For the first time, Reisner gave the scholarship to four seniors, because of such a close competition.

The checks are presented each year through the Shore Regional Educational Foundation and the monies are spread over each student’s 4-year college career.

Reisner stays in touch with each student and keeps track of their progress in school to ensure that they are doing well.

Reisner has contributed approximately $130,000 in scholarship money since starting this award.
