Shore Regional Event Raises $1,500 for Displaced Teacher
Event was held Tuesday night at high school

It was a banner day for on Tuesday as the community came together to help a teacher and witness victory on the court.
The school held a for art teacher Susan DePinho who lost her home and possessions in the West End fire last week. DePinho lived in one of the 12 apartments that was destroyed by the blaze.

The Shore Regional's Athletic Department and the Interact Service Club collected donations at the door during Tuesday's basketball doubleheader at the school, and raised $1,500 for DePinho.
"It is truly inspiring to see the community pull together and support Ms. DePinho considering the tragic incident wherein she lost her home in the Brighton Fire of Feb. 13," Shore Athletic Director Michael Carr said. "Many thanks to all those who showed their Shore Pride not only for those on the court but for Ms. DePinho and her well-being."

Community members donated money and gift cards to local businesses to DePinho, that she will use as she attempts to move on from the devastating fire.
The varsity boys and girls basketball teams also had a successful day as they both defeated their opponents. The boys won 69 to 51 over Brick Memorial, and the girls beat Highland Park 56-45.
