Special MLK Day Events Held at Seabrook
Events held in January to celebrate and honor the life and ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Seabrook, an Erickson Living senior living community in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, held two special events in January to celebrate and honor the life and ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
On January 18, employees and residents attended the live presentation, "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. - A Man of Conscience" portrayed by Keith Henley of the American Historical Theatre. Henley gave a riveting portrayal of Martin Luther King Jr., who was one of the world’s greatest orators, as well as a pastor, activist, and humanitarian.
On January 22, Seabrook presented a special screening of the short film “This Ain't A Eulogy” with a discussion with the filmmaker and performance artist, Taja Lindley. In “This Ain’t A Eulogy,” Lindley is imagining how to recycle the energy of protest, rage, and grief into creating a world where, indeed, Black lives matter.

The events were co-sponsored by the Erickson Living Values Group and Seabrook's Diversity and Inclusion Steering Group, a team of employees who support the efforts of enhancing diversity for staff and residents of Seabrook.
“Thank you to Keith Henley and Taja Lindley for bringing their talents and special presentations to Seabrook,” said Pastoral Ministries Manager David Bowman. “At Seabrook, we are striving to raise awareness about challenges facing our community and our nation, such as racism, gender inequality, and anti-Semitism. Programs like "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. - A Man of Conscience" and “It Aint A Eulogy” are among the avenues with which we are hoping to make progress and encourage active dialogue on campus."
