Three Local Arts Organizations Receive Grants

Monmouth University, Shore Institute of the Contemporary Arts and New Jersey Repertory Company all receive grant money from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts

Three local arts organizations in Long Branch and West Long Branch have been awarded grants from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

Monmouth University, in West Long Branch, Shore Institute of the Contemporary Arts and New Jersey Repertory Company, both in Long Branch, were the recipients of the grants.

Monmouth University received $42,681 for general program support, New Jersey Repertory Company received $23,894 and the Shore Institute of the Contemporary Arts received $13,802, both for general operating support.

Assembly Republican Whip Dave Rible and Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini announced the grant awards in a release and said they were happy these organizations, along with others in Monmouth County, received almost $700,000 in grants in state and federal funding.

“It is great to see our State recognize the importance of the arts,” Rible said. “The arts are not only a great source of education and culture, but also provide great business opportunities.”

“We are fortunate to have such great art organizations here in Monmouth County,” Angelini said. “These grants are well-deserved and will help to promote and preserve the arts in our community.”
