VIDEO: Tinton Falls 5K Run Benefits Schools
The sixth annual event held by the Tinton Falls Education Foundation supports the three schools in the district.
Less than 24 hours after a Nor'easter blew sleet, rain and some snow through the neighborhood course, about 200 runners bundled up to take part in the sixth annual Tinton Falls Run for Excellence 5K on Sunday.
Runners moved around to stay warm in the chilly weather before the 10 a.m. race with the help from music provided by 94.3 The Breeze and those preregistered for the event were hoping to win Yankees tickets that were raffled off later that day. A special Kids Run took off at 9 a.m. with about 50 participants.
Winner Zachary Kietrick, 26, sped through the finish with a time of 17:36:8 and a certain Patch editor quickly sped to the warmth of her car.
