Tinton Falls District Using Old-School Methods of Communication While E-Mail Remains Downs
The Tinton Falls school district has been without e-mail service for almost a week due to server issues.

The is going old-school to keep the lines of communication open as problems with the e-mail system persists from last week.
Due to software and hardware problems with the school's e-mail exchange, according to Superintendent John Russo, staff has turned to phones and faxes to keep parents in the loop since the system failed last Monday.
Russo said both internal and external vendors have been working "round the clock" to get the system back up but as of yet, "no one has been able to overcome the issue."

Information technology workers are trying to add an additional server and reconfigure the original one, said Russo, adding he hoped to have the issue rectified by the end of the day on Monday.
He also noted that once the system was restored, all the incoming e-mails that have been queuing up for the last week will flood staff inboxes.

Until then, Russo said, "We're making sure the information gets up on the Web site."
"We're going back to old school and talking on the phone rather than using e-mail," he added.
