Tinton Falls residents flourish in floral design at state's flower show

Garden Club members from Tinton Falls came away with top honors at the New Jersey Flower and Garden Show over the weekend at the New Jersey Convention Center in Edison.

Gotti Kelly won 90+ (Red Ribbon) for her Creative Platform Design; Renee Waite won a Blue Ribbon for her underwater design as well as the Petite Award; and Marilyn Baldi garnered two Blue Ribbons for her photography in a special exhibit.

Gardens from all over the state were judged by a panel from the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.  The MAC Events Center was transformed into a springtime oasis for the weekend while a warming sun melted snow that had blanketed our area since the day after Christmas.

The Garden State has over 120 garden clubs and more than 5,000 members, ranging in age from  6-years-old to adult.
