11K Without Power In Morris County

Breaking: Many residents will wake up with no power Friday morning.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — It'll be a dark Friday morning for some, as a widespread power outage affects Morris County.

As of 6:57 a.m., 15,569 Morris County residents are without power, according to JCP&L. 20 of the county's 39 towns are affected. That number was down to just over 11,000 by 8:30 a.m.

A JCP&L spokesperson said the outages were caused by issues with a transformer, and crews were working to fix it. There was no explosion, the spokesperson told nj.com.
