Boy Scout Troop 236 Honors 3 Eagle Scouts

Tim Carpenter, Dan Garry and Tyler Haas of Boy Scout Troop 236, in Long Valley, NJ were honored on June 11th, at an Eagle Court of Honor for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. The Court of Honor was held at Our Lady of the Mountain Church in Long Valley, NJ.

All three boys joined scouting together as Tiger scouts when they were 6 years old. They trio helped and supported each other for the next 12 years on their journey to achieve Eagle Scout, the Boy Scouts' highest honor.

To earn the Eagle Award, a Scout must be active with a troop, earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, assume a position of leadership in the troop and complete a service project that benefits his community. The service projects included landscaping and restoring of picnic tables at Long Valley Christian Nursery School, construction of garden beds at the Long Valley Presbyterian Church for the Long Valley Food Pantry and construction of raised planting beds for seniors at Paragon Village Senior Living Facility.

The boys will be attaining Rowen, Rutgers and Drexel in the fall.
