Boy Scout Troop 236 of Long Valley Honors 100th Eagle Scout

Boy Scout Troop 236 in Long Valley, NJ honored its 100th Eagle Scout, William McCartney, on August 11, 2019th.

To earn the Eagle Award, a Scout must be active with a troop, earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, assume a position of leadership in the troop and complete a service project that benefits the community.

Troop 236 was chartered in September 1986 by Saint Mark the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. The troop has thrived since 1986 by offering a program focused on developing scouts into confident leaders through participation in monthly outdoor activities, advancement, community service and through living the Scout Oath and Scout Law. The program allows the scouts to progress at their own pace while challenging them physically and mentally.

Troop meetings are the first, second and third Mondays of the month from September through June. Meetings are held from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM at: Saint Mark the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church
