Bridge Removed, Middle Valley Disconnected

, and demolition of the existing structure kicked off this week.

Now, with the structure connecting sides of Middle Valley to each other and Long Valley gone, detours–.

The project, which is eliminating the current structure and replacing it with a new truss and roadway, has been years in the making, and is expected to take up to eight months to complete.

Just before the road was closed earlier this month, Morris County engineer Brian Caruso said, depending on the truss manufacturer's time table, the road may be passable before inclement weather strikes the region during winter months.
