Bridging the Political Divide at the Library

"Bring It to The Table" returns to Washington Twp. Public Library for the third time on Monday, May 13th.

LONG VALLEY -- On Monday, May 13th, Washington Township Public Library will host its third session of Bring It to The Table. Bring It is a film and interactive project that encourages participants to reach across ideological lines about issues that often divide us. Created by award-winning filmmaker Julie Winokur, Bring It inspires people to examine their own biases, listen closely, and engage in meaningful, one-on-one discourse that will move us away from gridlock and towards a stronger democracy. The event will begin with a screening of a 40-minute film at 6 p.m. (those who did not participate in previous sessions are strongly encouraged to attend the screening). One-on-one discussions will begin at 7 p.m. New topics for this session include: The Media, Public Education, Money in Politics, Abortion, and the Role of Government. Registration is requested at wtpl.org or by calling the library at 908-876-3596. Washington Township Public Library is located at 37 E. Springtown Road, Long Valley, NJ 07853.
