Bridging the Political Divide at Washington Twp. Library

The library will hold its fourth session of "Bring It to The Table" on Tuesday, October 22nd

LONG VALLEY -- On Tuesday, October 22, Washington Township Public Library will host its fourth session of Bring It to The Table. Bring It is a film and interactive project that encourages participants to reach across ideological lines about issues that often divide us. Created by award-winning filmmaker Julie Winokur, Bring It inspires people to examine their own biases, listen closely, and engage in meaningful, one-on-one discourse that will move us away from gridlock and towards a stronger democracy. This session we will be discussing five new topics, all centering on various aspects of America’s changing culture: The American Dream - Still Alive and Well?; Diversity - Does It Strengthen or Divide Us?; Ethics of People in Power - Are We Lowering Our Standards?; Gender Inequality - What Can Be Done?; and Institutional Racism - How Pervasive Is It? Those who did not participate in previous sessions are strongly encouraged to attend the film screening at 6 p.m. Discussions begin at 7 p.m. Registration is requested at wtpl.org or by calling the library at 908-876-3596. Washington Township Public Library is located at 37 E. Springtown Rd., Long Valley, NJ 07853.
