Washington Twp. Library Presents: The Battle Of Antietam by Robert Dunkerly, NPS Ranger

Although Antietam is one of the most famous battles of the Civil War, one part of the battlefield has been largely overlooked, the southern, or lower, portion. This is where the Union 9th Corps launched the last attack of the day, and where General A.P. Hill's Division arrived to counterattack. 

This talk will explore the last attacks and the history of this neglected part of the battlefield. We will also learn about the most recent preservation efforts there.
