Car Crash Knocks Out Power In Long Valley

Police said the accident was minor and the energy company worked quickly to restore power.

LONG VALLEY, NJ— A car crash outside the Route 46 Target knocked out power to some Long Valley residents around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon, police told Patch.

The road was briefly closed as a result, and some area homes lost power. As of this writing, the road has reopened.

A Patch reader who works at a nearby business told Patch the traffic lights had lost power as a result of the accident. JCP&L restored power to the affected customers quickly; by 3:12 p.m., only five homes lacked power.

Washingtown Township police characterized the crash as a "minor accident."
