Central Grad to Perform on 'Today' Show Christmas Morning
Tim Sullivan's college a cappella group going big time with NBC performance Dec. 25.

All I want for Christmas is a television performance alongside my supremely talented college a cappella group.
OK, so maybe that wasn’t Tim Sullivan’s exact request for Santa Claus, but it’s happening anyway.
Christmas morning for the Long Valley native and West Morris Central grad of 2012 is going to be much different than most others, as his a cappella singing group, Not Too Sharp, from the University of New Hampshire will be featured on NBC’s The Today Show at 10 and 10:30 a.m. singing Christmas songs.

Sullivan, the singing group’s secretary, is one of 13 members who will be performing on the show Christmas morning. He joined the group during his freshman year after taking on lead roles in various musicals and choirs at Central. Sullivan also founded the co-ed high school a cappella group The Howlers.
Not Too Sharp was founded in 2002 and performs at on-campus events, private parties, weddings, and charity fundraisers. In the past 12 years, despite the constant turnover of group members due to graduation, the singers have released four albums, the most recent of which came out during Sullivan’s freshman year, titled “Haywire.”

But it was the group’s most recent endeavor, a full music video for their cover of Rusted Root’s “Send Me On My Way” that generated enough buzz to grab the attention of one of the producers of The Today Show.
Sullivan, who sings bass for the group, is looking forward to the rest of his collegiate career with his a cappella partners and what the extra attention will certainly bring.
For Tim Sullivan, this is a merry Christmas indeed.
See Not Too Sharp’s video of “Send Me On My Way” below. The group will perform on NBC (Channel 4), The Today Show, at 10 and 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 25.
