Cops: Long Valley Man Running Naked Was Drunk, High

22-year-old found in Hackettstown with underwear on after witnesses reported seeing him completely undressed in neighborhood, police report.

A Washington Township man was charged with multiple offenses in Hackettstown Wednesday night after police say residents called to complain about a man running naked down the street.

Around 7:47 p.m. on June 17, Hackettstown Police responded to the area of Mitchell Road and Shelley Drive for a report of a naked man running down the street, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.

When police arrived in the area they made contact with Clarence Rodwell, 22, of Washington Township, who was in his underwear, Tynan said.

An investigation revealed Rodwell was running down the street naked and was able to put on his underwear before police arrived, Tynan said.

It was also determined Rodwell was under the influence of alcohol and narcotics, Tynan said. It has not yet been determined what kind of drugs Rodwell had allegedly used, Tynan said.

Rodwell was taken to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center and charged with lewdness and disorderly conduct.
