Cops: North Brunswick Man, Teacher Was Masturbating in Car While Watching Kids at Bus Stop

A Morris County private school teacher was arrested Tuesday and charged with lewdness after he was spotted in the back of a car masturbating while watching children at a bus stop in Denville, police said.

According to dailyrecord.com, the man, John Watson, 33, of North Brunswick, is a music teacher at Morris Catholic High School in Denville. Watson allegedly left the scene – the parking lot of a bank on Rt. 53, the report said – and was found later after witnesses were able to submit his license plate number to police.

This wasn’t the first go-around for Watson either, the report said. The music teacher allegedly had committed the act three times in the past, dailyrecord.com reported. While it was not known how that information surfaced, police did say the prior occurrences took place in the same location, the report said.

Watson is also a private music instructor. A website for John Watson Productions was taken down Wednesday, but a thumbtack.com profile of the teacher says Watson is a certified K-12 music teacher and provides private coaching in piano, voice, music, theory, trumpet, and guitar.

According to the dailyrecord.com report, Watson resigned his post at Morris Catholic Tuesday after the arrest. The bus stop’s associated school was not disclosed for the privacy of the children involved.

Watson’s LinkedIn profile page shows he has taught in the past at the Peck School in Morristown and Matawan-Aberdeen Regional High School after graduating William Paterson University in 2005.
