DWI Arrests, Warrant Cases Reported In Long Valley: Blotter

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Washington Township police recently reported two drunken driving arrests and three cases involving active warrants during a series of traffic stops and investigations.

In one incident, officers responded to Reservoir Road for a motor vehicle crash. During the investigation, police determined that one of the drivers was operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

The driver was taken into custody and processed before being released to a responsible adult in accordance with John’s Law, police said.

A second suspected drunken driving incident began when an officer stopped a vehicle on U.S. Highway 46 East for a traffic violation. Police said the investigation determined that the driver was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

The driver was arrested, transported to police headquarters for processing, and later released to a responsible adult.

Police also reported three recent traffic stops that resulted in drivers being taken into custody on outstanding warrants.

An officer stopped a vehicle on Mountain Avenue after observing a violation on East Avenue and determined that the driver had an active Automated Criminal Warrant issued by Jersey City Municipal Court, police said. The driver was unable to post bail and was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility.

In another incident, an officer stopped a vehicle on Tara Drive after observing a violation on U.S. Highway 46. The driver was found to have an active Automated Traffic Warrant issued by Denville Township Municipal Court, according to police. The driver posted bail and was released with a new court date.

A separate traffic stop on Target Drive, also stemming from a violation observed on U.S. Highway 46, led police to discover an active Automated Traffic Warrant issued by Seaside Park Borough Municipal Court. The driver was taken into custody and later released with a new court date.

Police did not identify the drivers in the blotter.
