Join us Saturday, January 28 for “All About Family - Trinity Church’s Annual All-Church Day of Learning & Retreat” with Keynote Speaker, Professor Darrell Pearsen
The Council on Ministries is again hosting this year’s dynamic annual retreat. This event is open to the community, so please invite your friends to attend! The theme is an in-depth examination of family life with breakout sessions throughout the day. “This is our 8th annual retreat and families from the surrounding area are invited to attend to enjoy a morning of prayer and learning,” noted Senior Pastor, Dr. Frank Fowler.
Family is defined in many ways today — folks with kids, empty-nesters, single people, seniors, those with extended family living at home, people with pets as family — there’s something for everyone at the retreat. Edna Barrier, the Council on Ministry chair reports “that over 137 people have registered to attend so far, and we have room for more. This is an outstanding opportunity to meet and hear from one of the finest college professors on the subject of family and student ministry in the area.” Call 908-852-3020 if you plan to attend.

About Guest Speaker Darrell Pearsen:
Darrell has a contagious love for students which creates a strong relational tone in Eastern University’s youth ministry department. His years of work "on the field" with teenagers have well qualified him to serve as teacher, mentor and minister to college students who are pursuing youth ministry as a vocation. His involvement with young people includes work in the local church, para-church ministries and on-the-road event production (as founder of "Wild Truth"). With roots in Colorado, Darrell brings his expertise in wilderness camping to Eastern’s unique field experience class in the Colorado Rockies.
Darrell is sought after as a speaker and trainer for church youth ministers and volunteers and serves as a consultant with "ReThink", an organization that helps churches evaluate and grow their youth ministries. He currently leads the youth ministry at EFC Philadelphia, a Chinese/American congregation. Additionally, Darrell has written several books on junior high/middle school ministry, including Creative Junior High Programs from A to Z (Zondervan), and Pulse Junior High Curriculum (Gospel Light).
