Family Fun Festival - Vets Summer Fest at Vasa Park in Budd Lake

All are invited to attend this one day, family fun event called "Vets Summer Fest". 8/11/18 from 11am to 8pm.

Operation Chillout has announced its 7th Annual music festival Vets Summer Fest 2017 to Benefit Homeless Veterans. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 11:00 am till 8:00 pm at Vasa Park in Budd Lake, NJ. This helps fund Operation Chillout’s Homeless Veteran’s Outreach Program. The event also is focused on raising awareness of the plight of the tens of thousands of homeless veterans living in the United States. In New Jersey alone there are almost 8,000 homeless veterans living on the streets. Many endure acute PTSD and chronic illnesses of body, mind and spirit. Veteran homelessness is now the fastest growing sector of the homeless population and is escalating as our young troops return home from their Iraqi and Afghani military service tours.

Operation Chillout (OCO) is an all-volunteer 501(C)3 Non-Profit Organization as defined by the I.R.S. and as such all donations are tax deductible. OCO was founded in December of 2000 when it was discovered that a number of Vietnam era U.S. Army Vets were living under a bridge in Dover, NJ. OCO has been responding to the needs of homeless Veterans ever since. Celebrating its 19 years of operation, OCO has provided free relief supplies valued at more than one million dollars. OCO has a year round outreach presence in 16 New Jersey Counties, 4 Eastern Pennsylvania Counties and a growing presence in Rockland County, NY.

“This is a special year for Operation Chillout. We are celebrating our 19th year of operation in support of homeless veterans. Proceeds from the Vets Summer Fest 2018 will enable OCO to provide new season-appropriate clothing, emergency temporary shelter assistance, summer supplies and survival gear.” — Ray Chimileski, Operation Chillout Executive Director
