Fencing Teams Start Season With Decisive Wins

Handful of athletes go undefeated in first event.

West Morris Central’s boys and girls fencing teams got the season off to a great start Friday, winning decisively over their respective opponents from Hackettstown.

Senior co-captain and foil Andrew Mange went undefeated, 3-0, along with senior Clayton Wong also going undefeated for the Sabre squad. The Epee squad had both Casey Shoudy and Lucas Huzenger go undefeated as well. The boys team won 20-7.

The girls were led by junior captain Broke Solsky who went undefeated in foil. Senior epee Kelly Reibel, and Katherine Santsevich, a sophomore epee, both went undefeated as well. Senior sabre Hasoni Austin also went undefeated. The girls team won 19-8.
