Former Twp. Employee, Great-Grandmother Dies at 78

Janice Stephenson and her family watched as Long Valley expanded through generations, but always held close to home.

The Long Valley resident since 1969 died on Aug. 28 at the age of 78, according to her obituary.

Originally from Montclair, Stephenson was employed by Washington Township as an assistant treasurer for many years, the obituary said. She was also a longtime member of Our Lady of the Mountain Church.

Stephenson was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2006. She is survived by a son, wife, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
