Garden Club Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser

You've likely seen the pink ribbons and garb just about everywhere this October, marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Thousands of events nationwide are held to fund raise and support research and awareness for the terrible disease, and a local effort is hitting the walking path on Oct. 20.

The Garden Club of Long Valley will host a walk on the Columbia Trail for making strides against breast cancer from 1 to 3 p.m. All are invited to join or make a contribution, which will benefit the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center.

The group and other participants will meet in the parking lot of Zion Lutheran Church just before the event and take off for the two-hour walk.
