Current, former members of local group helped organize event.

Members of the Garden Club of Long Valley, along with garden clubs throughout the state, have been preparing for the upcoming Mardi Gras Madness Standard Flowers Show.

The Horticulture portion of the show, which runs from Feb. 14 to 17 at the New Jersey Convention and Expo Center in Edison, is being chaired by Long Valley’s own Alice Dickson, according to the group.

Club member Terry Holman wrote the schedule for the show, the Garden Club said.

Floral Designers from the GCLV, including Sandra Nielsen, Teddie Falcone, Monika Karoly and Terry Holman will be entering numerous exhibits for this competition. In addition, the Sprouts of Long Valley will be entering 52 exhibits in the Youth Section of the show to test their talents in floral design, horticulture and artistic crafts.

"Mardi Gras Madness features fun, G-rated exhibits for Floral Design, Horticulture, Photography, and Youth Exhibits and is a component of the entire Mac Events Flower Show featuring garden displays, tons of speakers, contests, vendors, a food court and most important of all...a taste of spring during this frigid February!” Holman said in a statement.
