Historic Home Renovator, Long Valley Grandmother Dies at 77

Kay Gould lived in Long Valley for 44 years.

Kay Gould wasn’t just part of Long Valley, she helped expose its beauty.

The township resident of 44 years died at her home surrounded by family recently, according to her obituary.

Gould was born in Peapack-Gladstone and lived most of her life in the Chester and Long Valley area. She traveled the world with her husband, LeGrand William, and enjoyed vacationing in Maine.

Using her skills as an interior design student at Parson’s School of Design in New York City she was able to help oversee the renovations of two of Long Valley’s most historic buildings: 1 East Mill Road and 19 Heath Lane. Both homes were frequently added to the township’s Holiday House Tour.

Gould is survived by her husband, six children, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
