Holiday Happenings Hit Long Valley for Annual Day of Festivities

Downtown Long Valley the place to be Dec. 7.

Hosted by the Long Valley Village Association, the annual Holiday Happenings event is ready to roll on Sunday, Dec. 7 in downtown.

Music, food, crafts, caroling, games and a special visit from Santa Claus himself will be on hand from 3 to 6 p.m. in the area of 20 Schooley’s Mountain Road, rain, snow, snow or shine.

Along with the festivities is the 10th annual Gingerbread House contest, hosted by the Long Valley Junior Women’s Club. Entries for the contest must be submitted between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, with a pre-registration deadline of Dec. 1. Gingerbread crafters can register at lvva.org.

Throughout the event, residents can take a few minutes to craft a card that will be sent to US troops serving abroad as well as injured soldiers recuperating in the states.

Capping off the celebration is the 28th annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Zion Lutheran Church, set for 6 p.m.
