Lifelong Long Valley Resident, Twp. Schools Staffer Dies At 73

LONG VALLEY, N.J. – Harry “Punk” Covert loved the outdoors and could often be seen driving around Long Valley in his tractor or old pickup truck.

The lifelong Long Valley resident died recently at the age of 73.

Covert was a graduate of West Morris Central, class of 1962. He worked for Westinghouse for several years before becoming a custodian for Kossmann and Old Farmers Road Schools for 35 years prior to retiring in 1962.

Covert is survived by his wife, Carolyn, two daughters, a son, and 11 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Scala Memorial Home on High Street in Hackettstown Friday, April 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 16, at 10 a.m.
