Long Valley Cub Scouts' 2014 Pinewood Derby Results
Long Valley held it's first town-wide Cub Scout Pinewood derby last weekend.
Every year over a million and a half Cub Scouts and their families set out worldwide to create, decorate, fine-tune and ultimately race, a car in the annual Pinewood Derby. On Saturday, January 25th, Cub Scouts from Long Valley’s Packs 136 and 36 participated in the first town-wide Pinewood Derby at the Long Valley Middle School. This year, Packs 136 and 36 held joint races where the winners of each den competed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. The individual den winners went on to complete for their Pack speed titles and the top three fastest cars from each Pack went on to complete for the first town-wide, Long Valley Grand Championship.
Between the two Packs, over 75 boys entered their cars in the day-long races and we saw some amazing results. The cars that were entered took every size, shape and color imaginable.

We were also very impressed with the cars that won awards for their creativity and design as judged by the Long Valley Boy Scouts.
