Long Valley Woman's Club Welcomes Police Officers.

The Long Valley Woman's Club welcomed Washington Township police chief Jeff Almer and Lt. Chris Bratus to present a program on Active Shooter Awareness at their monthly meeting on October 20th.

Lt. Bratus explained that the primary purpose of the presentation was to help people develop a mindset and some basic skills should they ever encounter an active shooter situation.

He then described what a police response would look like from their side of the situation and how they can help in this matter.

The program was most informative and stressed how we need to be aware of our surroundings and not glued to our cellphones when outside walking or shopping. He also made a point of knowing where the exits are in stores.

We thanked him for his time, knowledge, and presentation.

The Long Valley Woman's Club meets on the third Thursdays of the month at 12:30 at the Long Valley Presbyterian Church. New members are always welcome to attend.
