Long Valley Women's Club Charter Member Dies at 84
Marjorie Pierson was a longtime educator in Morris County.

Long Valley is steeped in history, and Marjorie Pierson was a major part of that.
The longtime Long Valley resident died recently at the age of 84, according to her obituary.
Pierson was a charter member of the Long Valley Women’s Club, a nonprofit organization that supports events in Washington Township throughout the year. Pierson loved to sew, and sewed the banner for the Club.

She graduated Morristown High School, the East Orange General Hospital school of Nursing, Trenton College with a Bachelors of Arts Degree and Master of Education Degree.
She was certified in health education, school social work, school nursing, teacher of psychology and guidance and counseling. She was employed by the Mt. Olive Township Board of Education for more than 25 years as a nurse, health educator, and guidance counselor.

Pierson was also an active member and former president of the Morris County School Nurses Association, former program chairman for the NJ State School Nurses Association, and a member of the National Association of School Nurses.
Pierson is predeceased by her husband, Robert, and sister Dorothy. She is survived by three daughters; a son; and five grandchildren.
