Long Valley's Middle School wrestlers traveled to Kenilworth over the holiday weekend, picking up wins over Ridge (62-21) and Kenilworth (60-33), bringing their League record to 7-1. Looking to fill the holiday with some top-notch competition, Long Valley accepted an invitation to compete in an exhibition dual challenge at the epi-center of New Jersey wrestling, South Plainfield. On New Year's Eve morning, Long Valley took on two of the premier middle school programs in New Jersey - Brick, whose high school is currently ranked 7th in the state, and Southern, currently ranked 8th in New Jersey (note that those rankings include all high schools, public and private, irrespective of size or location). The young Wolfpack wrestlers handled Brick 55-34 before dropping a barn-burner to Southern 39-37, a dual that came down to the last match of the day. Long Valley returns to competition this weekend with a tri-match at Hillsborough.
