Longtime Long Valley Municipal Employee Passes Away

Gwendolyn Gally was 84. She passed away in Maryland with family by her side.

Gwendolyn Gally, 84, of Long Valley, NJ passed away peacefully on, Sunday February 18th, 2018 at her nursing home in Berlin, MD with family by her side. Known as “Nana Beck” to the ones that she loved the most. Gwen was born to Joseph and Georgina Hanna on October 1st, 1933 in Philadelphia PA. She lived in the Long Valley/ Chester area for 35 years. Gwen worked as an administrative assistant for the Township of Washington in Long Valley at the municipal building. She enjoyed her job, but enjoyed the people that she worked with even more.

Gwen spent her life raising and caring for her entire family with ever thoughtful and enduring attention for her “favorite” son Jonathan. She followed and supported Jon’s participation in Special Olympics and his national bicycling rides. She would always enjoy a good political discussion with you and had a great love for God and Country. Gwen was a recorded “Daughter of the American Revolution”. She loved the beach, cooking and attending church.

Gwen is survived by her children Johanna Boliver, Bill Beck and his wife Debbie, Robert Beck and his wife Kelli, Jon Beck and her grandchildren Ian, Colleen, Bonnie, Bill, Jackie, Joe, Hanna, her brothers, William Hanna and Jon Hanna, great grandchildren, Jennifer, Leah, Madison, Kenzie and Alexis. She was predeceased by her sister Alice Clark.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 24th @ 1pm at the Zion Lutheran Church in Long Valley. There will be a gathering on-site at the church fellowship hall with refreshments immediately following the service to remember Gwen and share in the memory of her life. The family invites all to attend. Final interment will be in Limerick, PA at a later date where she will lay to rest along side her parents.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorial donations be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Long Valley.
