LVMS Announces Class Of 2026 Promotion Ceremony Details

School officials encourage carpooling if possible.

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Long Valley Middle School has announced plans for its Class of 2026 Promotion Ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 17, on the school's athletic field behind the building.

The ceremony is set for 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with eighth-grade students expected to arrive by 5:15 p.m. and report to their designated lineup locations before the processional begins.

School officials anticipate a large crowd for the annual event and are encouraging families to carpool when possible. Parking assistance will be available beginning at 5 p.m., though the campus will remain closed to visitors prior to that time.

Unlike an indoor ceremony, the outdoor promotion will not have a guest limit. Families are encouraged to bring their own chairs, while seating will be provided for students and guests requiring special accommodations. The ceremony will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.

Students are expected to follow a "classy casual" dress code, with school officials recommending attire suitable for warm weather and footwear appropriate for walking across grass during the processional.

In the event of inclement weather, the rain date has been set for Thursday, June 18. If the ceremony must move indoors, attendance will be limited to two guests per student because of space and fire code restrictions. School officials said every effort will be made to hold the event outdoors as originally planned.

Families with extenuating circumstances who may need additional indoor ceremony tickets could submit requests to the school by June 6. Any additional ticket allocations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Long Valley Middle School administrators also reminded families that students must participate in promotion rehearsals if they intend to take part in the ceremony. The school will dismiss eighth-grade students at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, with all students required to take district transportation home that day.

School officials thanked staff members and eighth-grade team leaders for their work organizing the ceremony and said they look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 as students prepare for the next chapter of their educational journey.
