Man Robbed At Gunpoint On Thanksgiving: Hackettstown PD

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A Hackettstown man was robbed at gunpoint early Thanksgiving morning by a man pretending to be a taxi driver, and police are still searching for the robber.

Police say the man was picked up by a taxi driver at a Dover restaurant around 2:42 a.m. on Thanksgiving day. The driver took the man into Hackettstown, pulled over near the Mountain Ave Quick Chek, and took out a silver handgun demanding money.

The man handed over some cash and got out of the car.

Police say the driver was "possibly Hispanic, tall, thin, with wrinkled skin on his face and wearing a black coat." He was driving a silver car that looked like a Ford Crown Victoria or a Mercury Grand Marquis; there was no logo on the car.
