Memorial Fundraiser for High School Hockey Squad Set for Saturday

Dinner, tricky tray to benefit team.

A memorial fundraiser to benefit the West Morris Central Ice Hockey team is set for Feb. 21, and will include tricky tray and raffle.

The event, titled the Ed Sommerkorn Memorial Beefsteak Dinner, will honor the late Long Valley resident as well as raise funds for the hockey team.

Sommerkorn, who died at 57 in 2013, lived in Long Valley for his last 22 years. He was the owner of Rockaway Sentry Hardware Store in Rockaway Borough and served as vice president of the West Morris Central hockey board.

The event includes dinner, dessert, beer and wine, tricky tray and a 50/50 raffle. Prices are $50 per person or $90 per couple, and all attendees must be over 21 years of age.
