NJ State Parks Talk Offered Virtually by W.T. Library

On Tuesday, June 22 at 7 p.m, author, photographer, and lecturer Kevin Woyce will present "New Jersey State Parks" live over Zoom

LONG VALLEY - Washington Township Public Library will be offering a free talk on New Jersey State Parks on Tuesday, June 23 at 7 p.m. The event will be held virtually over Zoom. Some of New Jersey's most exciting history can be found in our more than two dozen State Parks. Old names such as Wawayanda and Hopatcong remind us of the Lenni Lenape, or "Original People." Historic battlefields recall New Jersey's perilous years as "the Crossroads of the American Revolution." Abandoned forges still speak of our first great industry, and we can trace the beginnings of our transportation network in the paths of the Morris and the Delaware & Raritan Canals. This slideshow, presented by author, photographer, and lecturer Kevin Woyce, includes original photographs of many of New Jersey's beautiful state parks, plus vintage maps and images of historic people, places, and events. Registration is required so we can send you a link to attend. Click here to sign up.
