Officers Use Narcan to Save Overdosing Woman in Long Valley, Cops Say

Incident took place Wednesday afternoon, police report.

Two Washington Township police officers saved a woman’s life Wednesday afternoon when they responded to a call for a heroin overdose, Lt. Doug Compton said.

At 2:53 p.m. Officers John Lee and Derek Heymer responded to a home on West Mill Road for an unconscious subject, Compton said. When the officers arrived they found a 35-year-old woman from Whitehouse Station who was staying at the residence was suffering from a drug overdose, Compton said.

Lee and Heymer then administered a dose of Narcan, and the woman later regained consciousness, Compton said.

She was taken to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center by the Long Valley First Aid Squad for further evaluation.
