"Old Glory: History of the American Flag" Online Library Program

Author, photographer, and lecturer Kevin Woyce will present live, over Zoom

LONG VALLEY - To help people connect with one another from the safety of their home, Washington Township Public Library is offering free online programs. In honor of Memorial Day, the library is pleased to offer "Old Glory: History of the American Flag" on Wednesday, May 20th ay 7 p.m. Filled with original photographs, vintage images, and live music, this patriotic new program by author, photographer, and lecturer Kevin Woyce traces the history of the American flag, from its origin in the Revolution to the addition of our 50th star in 1960. The program also explores how a poem about the 1814 Battle of Baltimore — set to a popular English melody — became our national anthem. This program will be held live over Zoom. Registration is required so we can send you a link to join the meeting. Click here to sign up.

Additional online programs for kids, teens, and adults are listed on the library's online calendar.

Online services offered through the library -- including digital magazines, comics streaming videos, lectures, online databases, and much more -- are listed in the library's most recent online newsletter.
