Ort Family Brings New Meaning to ALS Ice 'Bucket' Challenge
Long Valley farmers take on competition to raise $360 for and awareness and research toward ultimately fatal disease.

The Ort Family has never done things quietly or subtly.
So when the farm’s employees raised $360 for the ALS Foundation and took on the Ice Bucket Challenge, there was no way a small container of freezing cold water would suffice.
This past weekend, three family members, including Harvey Ort, stood tall and took on the challenge as a front-end loader tractor dumped gallons and gallons of water over their heads.

According to time.com, ALS has received $5.5 million for Lou Gehrig’s disease research since July 29.
The challenge has gone viral, as everyone from kids to celebrities have been doused to raise money for the ultimately fatal disease.
